Northpath is what happens when the people building trade software also build for trade businesses directly.

We're the same team that designed, built, and operates TradeTrackHQ — the job tracking app already used by UK plumbers, electricians, builders, and other trade businesses. Same engineering, same eye for what trade businesses need, applied directly to your business.

Why Northpath exists

When you build software for tradespeople, you talk to a lot of trade businesses. After enough conversations, the same problems start to show up in every single one. Customers can't find you on Google. The website you paid for in 2018 is invisible on a phone. Half your week disappears into quotes, invoices, and chasing customers. Missed calls become missed jobs. The good marketing agencies want £8,000 for a website. The cheap ones disappear after they take your money.

We watched this pattern long enough to realise the answer wasn't another piece of software. It was someone who'd just do it for you. Set up the website, claim the Google Business Profile, build the automations, hand over the keys, charge a fair price. The kind of thing big firms pay agencies £30,000 a year for — but priced for a small trade business that's already paying for vans and tools and insurance.

Northpath is that. It's the consulting arm of TradeTrackHQ, with one clear job: take everything we've learned about what works online for trade businesses and set it up directly for yours.

How we work

The same way we work on our own software. We use AI tools heavily — they let us compress the boring parts of the work (research, drafting, configuration, debugging) so we can spend our human time on the parts that matter: your photos, your specific trades, the words a customer in your town would actually search for, the feel of your business. Every piece of content, every page, every automation is reviewed by a human before it goes anywhere near a customer.

We're a small team and we plan to stay small. That means we can't take on hundreds of customers at once, and we won't — we'd rather work with fewer trade businesses properly than churn out cheap, generic websites at volume. If we don't have the bandwidth for you this month, we'll tell you straight rather than overpromise.

What we won't do

  • × Lock you into long contracts. Monthly plans are monthly. You can leave any time and we'll hand you everything we built.
  • × Hold your domain or logins hostage. Everything we set up is in your name, on your accounts. We're admins; you're the owner.
  • × Pretend SEO is magic. Showing up on Google for "[your trade] in [your town]" takes 3-6 months of consistent work. Anyone promising week-one rankings is lying to you.
  • × Sell you tools you don't need. We use a small set of tools really well rather than bolting on every new shiny thing. The monthly fee covers everything; we don't take referral kickbacks from software vendors.
  • × Outsource the actual work. The people you talk to are the people building your website and automations. No offshore freelancers, no white-label resellers in the middle.
Our principles

The rules we run the business by.

01

Plain English, always

If we can't explain what we're building in a sentence a non-technical person understands, we shouldn't be building it. No jargon, no buzzwords, no "synergistic AI-driven solutions".

02

Fixed prices, real numbers

You see the price before you commit. No "let's hop on a call to discuss budget". No mystery upcharges. The number on the page is the number on the invoice.

03

You own everything

Domain in your name. Hosting account in your name. Logins to every tool, in your name. We're set up so you can fire us tomorrow without losing anything we built.

04

Outcomes over output

A 40-page report nobody reads isn't worth as much as one extra Google review a week. We measure what matters: leads coming in, hours saved, jobs closed.

05

Build for the trade we're in

We know the difference between a domestic plumber and a commercial M&E contractor. We know that "emergency electrician Bristol" is a different keyword to "rewiring quotes Bristol". We don't do generic.

06

Eat our own cooking

Everything we recommend, we run for our own software business first. We won't recommend anything we haven't trusted with our own livelihood.

The technical bit, if you care

What we run on.

You don't need to know any of this. But if you're the type to ask, here's the stack — same as TradeTrackHQ itself runs on.
